Povl Klitgaard & Co. was founded in 1929 and has since then been distributing office supplies and artists’ articles from leading factories to a nationwide net of distributors. From a pure agency we have developped into a modern ”on demand” distributor and due to a wide range of marketing functions, we represent a vital link in the value chain from producer to consumer. We are domiciled in our own brand-new building in Bagsvaerd/Copenhagen.

Company Profile and Business Concept

We give one hundred per cent priority to branding investments, and we are aiming at being a market leader within our primary product areas. A few examples: STABILO highlighters (STABILO BOSS) from Schwan-STABILO, UNI-rollerballpens from MITSUBISHI PENCIL CO. and artists’ supplies from Derwent, Clairefontaine, Royal Langnickel and Maimeri.

We target our efforts on a small group of selected foreign producers and in practice we operate as their daughter company.
All sales take place to the distributor link, we do not sell to private customers. Our justification in the value chain between producer and consumer comprises many functions, such as:

- Composition of product mix adapted to Danish standards and consumer preferences
- On-demand delivery of an extensive and complicated assortment
- Production of prospectus material, point-of-sale material and display material
- Distributor seminars on product knowledge
- Consumer marketing by means of advertising / joint advertising with distributor
- Direct mails to selected consumers
- Participation on distributor fairs
- Arrangement of display material in retail shops
- Introduction of product novelties

We wish to establish close connections to our distributors and to stand as a strong and trustworthy business partner. We take a pride in securing high service routines, the most natural result being short times of delivery.
